Rebuilding Your Revenue Strategy
April 13 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm$59.00
In normal times, and especially in crisis, nonprofit leaders have great concern over their organizations’ revenues. In times of uncertainty and worry like this, there can be a tendency to hunt for buckets of emergency, short-term funding to continue operating at pre-crisis levels, turning revenue generation conversations into a “who’s who” of senior leadership’s contact rolodex. Instead, we propose that nonprofits need to reconsider their revenue strategy, thinking deeply about aligning revenue streams with impact, producing flexible income, and leveraging the organization’s capacities. In this way, nonprofit leaders can create reinforcing cycles: as impact is achieved, investors or donors see the benefits of their contributions and are more likely to continue providing resources.
Session Objectives• Differentiate between types of revenue diversification.• Explain the key characteristics of a sustainable revenue strategy.• Begin to assess your revenue strategy for these characteristics.
